Main / Articles: Nikon to Ship High-sensitity Digital Camera for Microscopes in May

Nikon announced on March 28 that the company will launch the DS-2M, a new series of microscope digital cameras, on May 1.

Equipped with a 2-megapixel CCD camera, the DS-2M series can capture images at up to 30 frames per second. It also allows researchers to observe objects using an external monitor.

Three models are available: DS-2Mv, DS-2MBWc, and DS-2MBW. Starting from 500,000 yen ($4,700), prices depend on the combinations of cameras and control units. Nikon expects to sell 2,000 units in the first year.
